Ecommerce Website Design: A 10-Point Launch Checklist

Ecommerce Website Design: A 10-Point Launch Checklist

Launching an online store shouldn’t be guesswork. Use this checklist to get your first sales quickly and safely.

  1. Clear positioning: one sentence that says who you serve and what you sell.

  2. Product photos: multiple angles, zoom, and size/fit/context shots. Keep backgrounds consistent.

  3. Descriptions that persuade: benefits first, then specs. Use short bullets and plain language.

  4. Trust badges where they matter: secure payments, returns policy, warranty.

  5. Pricing & offers: show price plainly; if you discount, explain why and for how long.

  6. Shipping & returns: concise table with costs, delivery windows, and return rules.

  7. Checkout UX: fewest steps possible, guest checkout enabled, preferred local payment methods.

  8. Email foundations: order confirmation, shipping, and a simple post-purchase request for a review.

  9. Analytics & consent: measure product views, add-to-cart, checkout, purchases—ensure consent banner is compliant.

  10. Speed & security: WebP images, caching, SSL, backups, and fraud protection.

Add a simple FAQ with 3–5 answers near product pages to reduce support load.
